Gartner Magic Quadrants evaluates vendors within a particular market segment based on their completeness of vision and their ability to execute on that vision.

"This is a highly competitive and rapidly expanding market, and nearly every business in the world is evaluating solutions to move information and collaboration to the cloud and drive productivity," said Whitney Bouck, senior vice president and general manager of enterprise at Box.

"We believe our leadership position in this magic quadrant demonstrates that cloud-only technologies are able to meet the most stringent security needs of large and heavily regulated enterprises, while simultaneously delivering the best user experience to help people get work done anywhere and on any device."

According to Gartner, "EFSS refers to a range of on-premises or cloud-based capabilities that enable individuals to synchronize and share documents, photos, videos and files across multiple devices, such as smartphones, tablets and PCs." Gartner adds that, "Security and collaboration support are critical capabilities of EFSS to address enterprise priorities."

More than 25 million users and 225,000 businesses use Box to share, manage and collaborate on their information from anywhere, on any device. In the first half of 2014, Box grew its presence among the Fortune 500 and vertical markets, expanded internationally, and introduced more ways for developers to build on top of the Box platform.
