BANGALORE: Bosch Rexroth (India) Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Bosch Rexroth AG, the German drive and control company and a group company of the Robert Bosch group, plans to implement SAP applications to align with the parent company’s processes.

The company which has its presence in 38 countries worldwide and employs about 26,000 employees across the globe has already SAP enabled its US and European operations. The company has manufacturing center in India at Ahemedabad and Bangalore and employs about 280 people.

According to Wolfang Wagner, Managing Director, Bosch Rexroth (India), "India is one of the first countries that the company is planning to SAP enable as part of its Asia IT initiatives. We have our dedicated IT team here in India which will oversee the SAP implementations with help from our parent company in Germany."

Refusing to divulge the financial and investment details of IT, Wolfang, said that the company has an ongoing budget for all its IT initiatives and the plan includes establishing a global VPN connectivity by early next year, to seamlessly interconnect with their corporate intranet facility in Germany, as well as other global centers.

"The company's R&D center is based at their German headquarters and at the moment, we have no plans to set up one in India though we carry out some minor design works at our engineering centers in Ahemedabad and Bangalore", he said. The company is also launching an India specific web site which will be interlinked to its parent website from Germany in about 3 weeks, he revealed.
