Borland releases Delphi 7 Studio for development on .Net

NEW DELHI: Borland Software Corporation has announced Borland Delphi 7 Studio, featuring full support for new and emerging Web Services, integrated model driven development, and preview capabilities for the Microsoft .NET Framework. Using Delphi 7 Studio, Delphi developers can begin developing their skills for .NET and prepare applications for .NET without abandoning their existing work and skills on the Windows platform.

Borland is the first to deliver the independent path to .NET with Delphi 7 Studio, a cross-platform rapid application development (RAD) environment for the Windows platform. Delphi 7 Studio also features enterprise application design and deployment allowing developers to take advantage of enterprise application development from concept to production faster with the new UML designer and Model Driven Architecture (MDA) technology.

New features and benefits of Borland Delphi 7 Studio include Enterprise Application MDA Development, RAD Visual Web Development, Built-in Cross-Platform Support for Linux, Enterprise Class Reporting Capabilities, Royalty-Free DataSnap Multi-tier Application Deployment (formerly MIDAS) and Windows XP" Applications. Borland Delphi 7 Studio will be available during September 2002 in four editions: Architect, Enterprise, Professional, and Personal. A full Delphi language version of Borland Kylix 3 ships with Delphi 7 Studio Architect, Enterprise, and Professional editions.

For new users, Delphi 7 Studio Architect is priced at Rs 1,78,450, Delphi 7 Studio Enterprise at Rs 1,52,950, Delphi 7 Studio Professional at Rs 50,950 and Delphi 7 Personal at Rs 5050.
