The launch of these products comes close on the heels of the firm announcing

the appointment of Ajay Mohan as the country head for its Indian operation.

During a press conference, the vice president of the firm’s Asia Pacific

operation Ray Bradbery said, Borland was also contemplating on setting up a

development center in Bangalore. A decision on this matter will be taken in the

next 12 to 18 months, he added.

The firm is also planning to aggressively market its services in the Indian

market and is presently in discussions with 30 customers in the country. The

number is expected to now go up to 60 to 70 by the end of the current financial

year, he said. The list will include global giants such as LG, Ericsson,

Motorola and Sun, he said. This is in contrast to its lone customer Wipro, a

year ago, Bradbery added.
