NEW DELHI, INDIA: OYO Rooms, a network of technology-enabled budget hotels has launched its mobile app.

The ‘OYO Rooms’ mobile app is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The company claims that it is the world’s first personal room service app that allows guests staying at an OYO to order room service directly from their smartphones.

“Now we are using a smartphone app to completely redefine guest experience at an OYO, allowing our customers to not only book their preferred OYO room in less than 30 seconds flat, but order room service directly from the OYO Rooms app,” said Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and CEO of OYO Rooms.

The ‘OYO Rooms’ mobile app offers its users a 3-tap room booking experience. There is no need to pay online or through the app as guests can settle their bills directly at the hotel. Once the room is booked, guests can navigate to the hotel by using the app’s ‘get directions’ feature.

Search Smart

The OYO Rooms app allows a user to search for the nearest available OYO Room from over 4,000 rooms in more than 15 cities across India. A user can search for a specific location in a city and explore available rooms on a map. The app also provides details of all available amenities as well as pictures of the room interiors to provide a completely predictable experience to users.

Users can book the OYO Room of their choice in just 3 taps. Once the booking is made, the app allows the guest to navigate to the hotel location. It also allows users to view, manage or cancel their bookings conveniently. Users are not required to pay via the app; they can settle their bill at the hotel directly using cash or card.

Smart butler

Once a guest has checked-in, the app magically transforms into a smart butler. A guest can use the app to ‘request service’ such as order tea/coffee from the app. More guest-controlled services will be added to the app in due course of time.

" Our research showed that ordering room service is unnecessarily complicated as guests are forced to locate a wired phone, find the right number and wait for someone to answer the phone and understand the requirements,” said Anurag Gaggar, VP of Product Management at OYO Rooms.

All OYO customers who book their first stay via the OYO Rooms app get 50% off on their first night’s stay.

“With this OYO Rooms app, we are making the smartphone a powerful self-service tool for travelers to completely control their hotel stay experience. We have more than 4000 rooms on our platform, ensuring availability for our users to book and check-in real time without worrying about advance booking,” said Abhinav Sinha, COO of OYO Rooms.
