Monash is working with BMC to bring disparate service management environments onto a single shared platform. The new platform will manage IT services for more than 50,000 students across six Victorian campuses.

The BSM platform will enable Monash to manage its IT environment proactively based on core business needs and individual IT requirements. Once completed, Monash expects the consolidated platform to create significant cost savings, improve efficiencies and accelerate IT response times.

“Monash is an energetic and dynamic university committed to high quality research and education. To ensure we provide our employees and growing student body with first-class IT services, we have made a decision to utilize BMC software to enable more efficient delivery of ICT services across faculties and divisions,” said Chris Bridge, ICT shared services program director for Monash University. “Implementing an IT service management system and university-wide business processes will enable the university to reduce risk and improve efficiencies in the smooth delivery of IT services.”

It is a university with 57,000 students, 7,000 staff and eight campuses in Australia, Malaysia and South Africa. Monash is a member of Australia's Group of Eight universities, recognized for excellence in research, teaching and scholarship.
