CHENNAI: Blueshift has tied up with Jamshedpur-based management institution,
XLRI, to enable its admission test, XAT, go completely online with its turnkey
software service, Service Engine for Assessment, Testing and E-learning
(SENATE), launched two months back.
Blueshift will offer a complete package of services under SENATE, which
include online registration, content preparation, website design, an e-brochure,
complete management of logistics, test center tie-ups, test supervision,
delivery and reporting. Applicants can register online with the
XLRI site. Payment of examination fees has to be done offline for the time
being. Candidates for the examination would be given an electronic hall ticket
with id and password. Question papers would be released to the server in the
test centers 15 minutes before the exam. While the candidate is taking the exam,
SENATE locks the system from accessing other sites and locks up other
peripherals so that the candidate cannot retrieve information stored in the hard
drive or access floppy drives.
Blueshift has partnered with Dishnet DSL and Junction 96 so that their
Internet centers that meet certain conditions could serve as test centers for
the exam. Satyam Infoway would host the entire software. XAT, to be conducted on
January 6, will at least have 25000-30,000 students. It hopes
to cover more than the 18 cities, which it used to cover earlier with SENATE.
