Software solutions and consultancy provider, Blue Star Infotech Ltd announced

the launch of its new business practice for Banking, Finance Securities and

Insurance (BFSI) sectors.

Speaking on the launch of BFSI practice, Pramod Bhalla, managing director, Blue
Star Infotech, said, ‘The Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector has emerged as

the single-largest implementer of Information Technology. We recognize this as a

burgeoning opportunity and have decided to spin off a new division dedicated to

the needs of banking and financial institutions to its customer base.’

In a recent interview to myiris.com, Bhalla said, ‘Blue Star Infotech sees
future growth opportunities coming from two areas. First is the tendency of

medium to large companies to outsource to low cost vendors. Second is from

opportunities driven by certain migration scenario such as from HP 3000 to one

of the future platforms.’

‘We will continue to be an offshore-centric company. We do not expect any
major changes in onsite-offshore ratio, currently at 20:80,’ he said.

The company is already seeing renewed interest in offshore outsourcing from
product companies. Given its 10-year track record in R&D services, the

company expects contribution from outsourcing to improve in the coming years.
