Blue Jeans intros cloud-based video conferencing soln

SANTA CLARA, USA: Blue Jeans Network unveiled its cloud-based multi-party video conferencing service.

Dubbed “any(ware) video conferencing,” the service will be accessible to everyone at any time, any place and from practically any device, claims the company.

Blue Jeans Network's video conferencing service bridges solutions from Cisco/Tandberg, Polycom, Lifesize and others, with consumer solutions such as Skype and Google Talk.

The company says that with this remote users with access to Skype and a video-enabled desktop or mobile device, can participate in video meetings.

“Blue Jeans Network is tearing down the walls that exist in video conferencing,“ said Krish Ramakrishnan, co-founder and chief executive officer of Blue Jeans Network. “What was once an elite boardroom technology has moved to the cloud, enabling interoperability and lower price points. We democratize video conferencing, leveling the playing field for the entire global workforce.”

Blue Jeans Network users each get a private “meeting room”. The Blue Jeans service has been in field trials since the beginning of 2011.

The company already claims almost 4,000 subscribers with 500+ companies represented. Approximately 6,000 meetings, spanning 500,000 minutes. Over 15,000 participants in 1,000 cities in 100 countries.

The company also announced a partnership with Deutsche Telekom, an integrated telecommunications company.
