NEW YORK : A teenager suspected of making the devastating Blaster Internet worm even more potent, will likely be arrested on Friday, the Seattle Times reported citing two U.S. Justice Department sources.

The 18-year-old suspect already has been questioned and put under surveillance, and is expected to be in custody by 4:30 p.m. EDT, said the paper, which added the teenager will likely be charged as an adult.

Investigators do not suspect the unidentified man as the creator of the original Blaster worm, the Seattle Times said.

Instead, they suspect he altered the worm into the so-called B-variant, which does more harm, than the original that bored into computers through a weak spot in the Microsoft Windows operating system, the paper reported.

The creator of the original Blaster worm has not yet been found said the Times.
