BERLIN: The wireless print solution, Content Beamer for BlackBerry, is now available worldwide with a broader range of functions than what the software developer, ThinPrint, has promised in April.
Content Beamer for BlackBerry offers users of Bluetooth-capable BlackBerry devices a way to print emails and attachments in original format on Bluetooth-printers. .
Additionally, BlackBerry customers using Content Beamer can also print emails and attachments on network printers, as well as directly print unformatted mail texts using HP compatible and Bluetooth-enabled printers.
All print functions can be selected uniformly and intuitively with the "print" command, which is integrated directly into the BlackBerry menu.
With Content Beamer, users equipped with a Bluetooth-capable BlackBerry device can print emails and attachments in original format on to any Bluetooth-enabled printer via the Bluetooth interface, even without downloading the attachment.
Content Beamer for BlackBerry also offers a direct printing capability. If the layout doesn't matter and the content is already downloaded completely onto the BlackBerry device, it can be printed directly, via Bluetooth, to any Bluetooth-enabled HP compatible printer.
"Quick printing with this function will soon be possible completely offline," ThinPrint said in a press statement.
It also provides remote printing facility. Users who are in the move can print to network printers at headquarters via BlackBerry, as well as branch office printers, as long as the selected network printer is installed on the Content Beamer Server.
ThinPrint managing director Carsten Mickeleit said, "by adding network and direct print functions, we want to ensure that Content Beamer represents all aspects of printing and meets the needs of BlackBerry users with one easy-to-find `print´ option in the BlackBerry menu."
All these facilities are provided without compromising on security. ThinPrint solution uses the advanced security features of BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Print jobs are created from the server component of the Content Beamer for BlackBerry and sent via BlackBerry Enterprise Server to the mobile device.
For security reasons, the only accepted Bluetooth printers are those to which the user has previously established a connection.
Content Beamer supports all conventional print languages. Bluetooth communication is sent either via the built-in Bluetooth interface or a small Bluetooth adapter.
