Birlasoft to add 700 for new center

NEW DELHI: With an aim to expand its manpower base, Noida based Birlasoft is planning to invest close to $6 million in setting up a new development facility at Noida.

Informed Birlasoft COO, Kamal Mansharamani, "We have already identified around 65,000 sq ft area where this facility would be constructed and the work has already begun. We will recruit more than 700 people for this facility and will start moving to this facility by the end of June 2004".





At present, the company has two development centers — one based at Noida and the other based in Chennai and close to 1,800 software professionals are manning these two centers.



"We are looking forward to taking people in areas like e-commerce, PeopleSoft skills, Oracle expertise and Microsoft .net capabilities. As a company, we would be focusing on BFSI and the healthcare industry verticals in the coming quarters," he added.

The company has become the first Indian IT services company to be appraised at SEI CMMI Level 5 on continuous representation.
