Bird Group to invest of $10-m in India

NEW DELHI: Bird Group, which offers a host of IT services primarily in the aviation sector, has outlined an investment of $10 million in India for the next five years.

Disclosing this with CyberMedia News Ankur Bhatia, executive director, Bird Group said that the company is strongly focusing to enhance its service portfolio for the industry.

"We are planning to set up a development center in Chandigarh next year for software development. The center will be set up at the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park," revealed Bhatia.

He said that the Chandigarh center would offer employment to around 50-55 persons in the initial year of operation, before increasing it in the next couple of years.

"We are targeting to increase the headcount in the center to 600 people in five years time frame," he added.

Bird Group offers call center services, data maintenance, online transaction support services, provision of ground handling services, passenger handling, aviation security, marketing and support of software applications, automation of civil airports, and comprehensive solutions in the field of satellite communications.
