BindView sets up R&D facility in India

PUNE: BindView India Pvt. Ltd. has set up a new facility in Pune. The company is a 100 percent export-oriented Indian subsidiary of the Houston-based BindView Corporation engaged in policy-based IT security and risk management.



"We are augmenting our India operations and expect to increase the headcount to approximately 200 within the next year," said BindView India director and head of the India operations, Shantanu Ghosh. Elaborating on the new facility, he added, "The new office has R&D labs and greater floor space to accommodate up to 300 employees."



Speaking at the launch of a new state-of-the-art facility in Pune, BindView product and technology operations executive VP, Arshad Matin said that India would be a key part of the global growth strategy.

"We will leverage our state-of-the-art Pune facility as a distinctive platform to deliver innovative solutions and services," he added.



The products developed in Pune contribute to nearly 50 percent of the global revenue of the company estimated at around $75 to $80 million in 2004.The company has a global presence in North and South America and Europe.

The Pune facility has grown from 60 employees in 1999, to approximately 135 employees in 2004 with plans afoot for further expansion. The team here is involved in product development, including design architecture and quick-fix engineering. The company plans to invest between $5 to $10 million in the new facilities.
