BigAdda's userbase crosses 3mn mark

BANGALORE, INDIA: Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group's social networking site, BigAdda, announced that its registered user base has crossed the three million mark since its launch in August 2007.

BigAdda has also reported a significant increase in the number of users hailing from tier-II and III towns.

While metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and others accounted for 50 percent of the users, the rest come from tier-II and tier-III towns like Pune, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Vishakapatnam and Allahabad.

Shivanandan Pare, COO, BigAdda, said: ''Launching BigAdda on mobile recently was a step in this direction which has so far received a great response,. We are very pleased to reach yet another milestone of three million user base in such a short span of time since its launch. We are actively working towards taking our registered user base to 10 million in India at the earliest."

According to the company, almost 85 percent of the site's registered users are in the age group of 18 to 30 and 32 percent are between 21 to 24 years.

The company plans to launch new innovative products in order to attract new users and retain the old ones. At BigAdda upward trend of logins begins at round 1300 hours and peaks between 1900 hours to 2000 hours.

A recent online survey conducted by Internet research firm JuxtConsult, adjudged BigAdda the No. 1 social networking site when it comes to overall website user friendliness. BigAdda scored 6.9 on the WUF Index and was ranked as the No. 1 portal for its ease of access and design appeal.
