Bharti ties-up with bank to set-up data center

CHENNAI: Bharti Group’s venture Bharti Broadband Networks (BBNL) has

forayed into an Integrated Communications Solutions tie-up to set up a data

center services for the core banking operations of Karur Vysya Bank (KVB). KVB

has invested Rs 10 crore for the entire process.






This tie-up with Bharti Broadband, is part of the new IT initiatives by Karur
Vysya Bank, which started with the computerization of all its branches. The data

center will form the main hub of KVB's entire IT operations with i-Flex's core

banking product 'Flexcube' to be deployed at this site and its branch network

converging on this data center. The data center will be operational on a 24x7

basis, and will be managed by KVB's IT personnel. The data center has been

placed at Bharti Towers, Chennai.






Bharti, which is setting up a separate area for data center at Bharti Towers,
KVB becomes its first customer in data center to be followed by two others from

the manufacturing sector. Bharti data center will offer features that would

include redundant fiber network connecting various cities across the country,

superior infrastructure in terms of captive power supply backed up by dedicated

alternative power source, better network security and all mandatory world-class

utilities required in a data center setup.
