NEW DELHI: Bharti Telesoft, a provider in integrated value added service (VAS) solutions for mobile operators, today announced that it has empowered a leading international telecom service to deliver a prepaid roaming solution and an intelligent CAMEL Hub solution that will simplify roaming and reduce roaming charges for sports fans visiting the ongoing Beijing Olympics.

The solution enables prepaid roaming within the same CAMEL phases and also from phase 1 to phase 2 CAMEL networks in the initial rollout, according to a press release.

It is to ensure that prepaid subscribers are able to roam seamlessly between different partnering networks, agnostic to the CAMEL phase of either the home or the visited network which would be activated during the second and third phase of solution’s deployment.

To further enhance mobile users’ roaming experience, the solution supports call correction services so that roamers do not make dialing mistakes which would help in increasing the call completion rates and drive revenues for participating operators, said the release.

Atul Madan, VP Hubs, Bharti Telesoft said, “Bharti Telesoft is providing a technology that allows mobile network operators to reduce time and cost for inter-network roaming during the Beijing Olympics.”

“Prepaid roaming has proved a challenge for mobile operators because of the complexities of deploying services over different CAMEL networks, and also due to the proprietary implementation of some CAMEL parameters by different vendors,” he said.

Prepaid roaming becomes much more complex when operators upgrade their networks as this affects all partner networks with prepaid roaming. Bharti Telesoft’s Hub solution allows operators to enjoy a one-to-one relationship with the hub, reducing the complexity of managing multiple operator relationships,” Atul Madan pointed out.
