Bharti partners Savvis for cloud services in India

ST. LOUIS, USA: Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel Limited has partnered with hosted IT services provider Savvis to launch managed hosting and cloud computing initiatives in India.

The agreement will expand access to Savvis' managed hosting and cloud services to enterprises operating in or expanding into India. Savvis will extend its infrastructure and service platforms in existing Airtel data centres throughout India and establish local operations teams to support both local and global clients.

Savvis expects to begin the roll-out of its services through Airtel's Bangalore data centre in early 2011 with future expansion into other Airtel data centres located in New Delhi, Pune, Mumbai and Chennai.
