NEW DELHI, INDIA: Bharti Airtel, which is in exclusive tie-up talks with South Africa's MTN, said on Tuesday the structure of the deal would be fully compliant with the laws in both countries.

Bharti said in a statement all required approvals, including an exemption from any open offer from the Indian market regulator, would be sought at the appropriate time.

Meanwhile, a PTI report said that Bharti Chairman Sunil Mittal today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He is understood to have discussed some contentious issue like dual listing and exemption from open offer to be availed by MTN.
