Belgacom posts Openwave suite in 2 mn mailboxes

REDWOOD CITY, USA: Openwave Messaging Inc. has announced that Belgacom, Belgium's major communications operator, has deployed Openwave Messaging's Universal Messaging Suite to two million mailboxes in Belgium.

Users will now have access to innovative email and messaging features, including 1 GB data storage, the company shared.

"Our highest priority at Belgacom is to provide the most reliable and easily accessible messaging experience along with robust features for our expanding customer base," said Laurent Meertens, engineering manager, messaging services, at Belgacom. "We're very confident that we are now providing our customers with a messaging solution that will serve them well into the future. We see this deployment as the first milestone in a broader collaboration between Belgacom and Openwave Messaging."

Belgacom says it selected Openwave Messaging's Universal Messaging SuiteTM for its proven reliability, scalability, robust email security and its ability to tightly integrate with Belgacom's infrastructure.
