Bejeweled luxury mobiles unveiled in India

MUMBAI: Vertu, the luxury mobile phone manufacturer, has launched its Indian operations with the opening of several points of sales in key cities across the country.


Currently, Vertu phones are available at Regent in Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai and Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi. The mobile phones are in the range of Rs 3.4 lakh to Rs 17 lakh. The company's Vertu Signature and recently launched Vertu Ascent range of mobile phones would be available in India.

Vertu Signature internal architecture features more than 400 mechanical parts and is available in a casing made of stainless steel, 18 carat yellow gold, 18 carat white gold and platinum. The Very Ascent keypad contains over 150 different parts and the stainless steel keys, each of which sits on jeweled bearings. The company would soon be filing for 74 patents for its products. Finex Distribution Pvt Ltd is the sole distributor for Vertu mobile phones in India.



Finex Distribution MD, Raouff Ansari said, "There is an increasing demand for finely crafted, high value goods in India. Vertu decided to enter India to provide customers superior service and dedication to craft."


Both Vertu Signature and Vertu Ascent have scratch resistant sapphire crystal face, polished ceramic, fine leather for better grip and jeweled bearings that are fitted under each key, providing a reassuring click each time the key is pressed.
