"Majority of young people in India see Indian IT as an exciting career opportunity."

Pilot called on the industry to make more efforts so that the fruits of IT revolution are percolated into the lower strata of the society.

"One-fifth of the country has a daily income of Rs 12 and IT industry has to be sensitive to the needs of that section of the populace," he said.

"The IT industry has additional onus to balance the gap between the digital have and have-nots," Pilot added.

Talking about the IT implementation in the country, Pilot admitted that the process has been slow. He said that his rural constituency has initiated e-governance initiatives to mitigate the problems of people.
