Basab Pradhan quits Infosys

BANGALORE: Basab Pradhan, global sales head of Infosys, has resigned to start his own company.

Infosys spokesperson said Pradhan has quit to start his own venture.

However, reliable sources informed CIOL that four other top executies from sales and marketing team are also moving out with Pradhan.

Unconfirmed reports said Pradhan may even join a large MNC as chief operating officer. Infosys tried to hold him back and had even offered him a directorial position.

Pradhan replaced Phaneesh Murthy, who resigned in 2002 following a lawsuit against him and Infosys, alleging wrongful termination and sexual harassment of a female employee.

Prior to his appointment as global sales head, Pradhan served as the company's regional manager and vice president - sales (West North America).
