The first school was opened in Mysore in June this year.

According to M N Vidyashankar, IT secretary of Karnataka, the inauguration of the second IT finishing school will coincide with the BangaloreIT.in, which is scheduled to be held from October 29 to November 1, 2007.

He said 10,000 students will pass out of the school in the first year. The school is expected to play a significant role in building skill gaps and addressing the talent crunch problem. Curriculum would be driven by the industry, said Vidyashankar.

He also informed that the Jsoft Solutions, part of Jindal Group would be inaugurating its non-voice based BPO in October. It would accommodate and provide employment to 1500 local graduates.

Similar BPO units will be set up in Kolar, Tumkur, Hassan and Shimoga by end of this year, Vidyashankar said.
