Bangalore to host first Web 2.0 event

BANGALORE, INDIA: The Trade Fairs and Conferences International (TFCI) would hold Web Innovation 2007, a first of its kind event on Web 2.0 in the country, on December 18 and 19 in Bangalore.

More than 45 experts on Web 2.0 would attend the two-day conference as speakers. The organizers also expect the participation of 600-750 delegates representing various industries from around the world at the event.

Elaborating on the event, Bal Tarakad, CEO, TFCI said, “We are here to talk about Web 2.0 and beyond.” He added that the conference would have two tracks: Business and Technology.

SemIndia managing director B.V. Naidu, who is a member of the Conference Advisory Committee, said that the conference is very well structured and hoped that it would be useful for both geeks and businessmen.

Vivek Kulkarni, chairman and CEO of Brickwork, echoed the same comments by saying, “this is a great platform for both IT and business decision makers to get all around views and in depth information about Web 2.0 technology.”

Besides Naidu, Kulkarni and N Balakrishnan, associate director, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, are also in the Conference Advisory Committee.

The conference, as one of the highlight, would also have The Web Innovation Designer Contest, to be presented by National Institute of Design, Microsoft and TFCI.
