Bala Mahadevan inducted into Digital India

BANGALORE: Digital Equipment India Ltd. has announced the appointment of Mr.

Bala Mahadevan as Head-New Business Initiatives. In this role, Bala will be

responsible for leading the company’s independent new business initiatives

globally. He will work closely with the various geo-heads and report directly to

the CEO, Som Mittal. Also, he will be on Digital India’s management council

team as a member.

Prior to joining Digital India, Bala spent 12 years at CBSI, USA, where he

was instrumental in building accounts like McDonnell Douglas, EDS and Tandem

Computers. Bala has also worked with several leading companies such as Motorola,

IBM, Lockheed, Citibank and Nasdaq. Bala started his career in the IT industry

with TCS in 1983 and has around 17 years of experience in the industry. He is a

graduate of B.I.T.S Pilani.

Speaking about Bala’s appointment, Digital India CEO Som Mittal said that Bala’s inclusion in the Digital India management team would provide an added element of leadership to it. He was confident that Bala would play a significant role in realizing Digital India’s growth plans.
