NEW DELHI: Baan India, an enterprise solutions provider, with wide suite of

deliverable enterprise applications in the area of Enterprise Resource Planning

(ERP), Supply Chain management (SCS), LMS, e-commerce, and Customer Relationship

Management (CRM), has entered into a strategic alliance with PriceWaterhouse

Coopers (PWC) to jointly address the Indian market.

Under this alliance, Baan would be launching its CAPS Logistics, supply chain
planning and optimization solutions for the Indian market, and PWC would be

providing consulting and implementation services for CAPS decision support

tools.

As a part of this alliance, Baan India will target various industries like
manufacturing, FMCG, pharma, food & beverages, 3PL, retail, transportation,

petrochemicals, technology and automotive, bringing in vertical industry focus.

"Since success of CAPS depends on good implementation of the product, Baan
required partners with supply chain expertise and extensive functional

knowledge. As a first step, it has tied up with PriceWaterhouseCoopers to

address the Indian market," said Gopal Madnani, CEO Baan India.

Talking about the impact of this alliance on the domestic companies, Gopal

said, "Supply chain management is being considered in sectors as diverse as

automobiles, fast moving consumer goods, consumer durables and food services.

Against the reality of a persistent downturn in demand for the past three years,

SCM offers the organizations a chance to trim flab, to reduce non-value-adding

activities and to reorganize to reach new markets".
