Aztecsoft nets jumbo client wins

PUNE: Aztecsoft Limited, the software engineering services company, has bagged a large insurance company in the UK besides winning two other big clients.

The UK deal, was signed in the last 45 days, will be served for testing exclusively by the company's Pune operations.

"We have, in addition, signed one of the largest car fleet leasing company in Europe and one of the largest retailers in the US. The deals entail building products for running their business. We would work on strategic portals or standard supply chain products for them," said Samir Bodas, CEO of Aztecsoft.

Aztecsoft has an active base of 85 customers.

These new wins, along with another big customer CyberShift and Microsoft, would be majorly served by the Pune center.

The company has inaugurated its new facility at Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjewadi, here where it would spend Rs 40 crore. The new facility spreads over a total constructed area of 200,000 square feet that will house 1500 people thereby doubling its current headcount of 750 heads. Testing makes up around 80 per cent of work being churned out from here and in the last six to nine months new areas like sustenance engineering have been started. The facility will provide product engineering services, independent testing services, sustained engineering and professional services.

The company is also expanding its lab in Seattle. Among other expansion plans, figures a SEZ facility in Bangalore that will be built next year.

The company also saw revenues doubling from its new foray in wireless and embedded technology. "We have closed some exciting customers, mostly from the start-ups category and revenues over last year have doubled too," said Bodas.
