While interacting with the media here today after Wipro announced its financial results, Premji also said that the APF university will train professional teachers and non-teaching staff in education and skill development for imparting quality teaching to students.

“This (the university) will look at training teachers. There is lack of good professors who can train the teachers. We are getting technology and professors from five universities. We will start with Masters courses followed by bachelors and then PhD,” he said.

Premji also said that the macro economy is recovering. “We have seen month-on-month growth in all areas, vertical, geographies and business units,” ascertained the Wipro chairman.

Pointing to the improvement in the technology investment landscape, Premji said the company is in talks with Fortune 250 and 500 companies, which have shown their willingness in investment.

“We are seeing another strong quarter. The verticals like healthcare, BFSI, energy and utilities, testing, consulting, telecom and technology, which were not strong last quarter, have now started looking positive,” said Premji, adding, “We are expecting the IT budgets will be more. But more than that we want the budgets to be complete. Last quarter a lot of budgets did not complete.”

Saying that non-linearity will be a focus with delivery and product for Wipro, Premji added, “In industry solution, we are focusing on two themes like green and cloud. Large deals are very much on table from Europe, America and especially India.”
