BANGALORE, INDIA: With Ayurveda being widely accepted worldwide, the website ayurvedicmedicinalplants.com is planning to become more interactive.

The site is planning to have a free downloading center for downloading medical and ayurvedic e-books.

Ayurveda physicians who founded the site are also working on additional features like a home remedy page and an interactive CD on Ayurvedic medicinal plants.

Also planned are a discussion forum, option for the publication of research work as well as online sale of seedlings, seeds, genuine Ayurvedic raw drugs, prepared drugs and extracts. Soon the site will incorporate findings by research workers.

This website provides the morphology and the therapeutic properties of Indian medicinal herbs.

“We have listed almost all the varieties of indigenous medicinal plants that is grown in Kerala”, said Dr Eby Abraham, one of the brains behind the site.

At present, the site offers images of Ayurvedic medicinal plants with information on their plant morphology, therapeutic properties, the Ayurvedic principle behind the selection of a plant as a medicine and more. Other features include display of botanical name, family, names and synonyms of the plants in Sanskrit, Hindi, English and Malayalam and indexing with Latin, Sanskrit and Malayalam names.
