Switching Electronics of Calcutta, manufacturer of the AVO UPS, has decided
to make a foray into the northern region. The firm plans to establish another
production unit in Delhi to tap one of the most lucrative markets for computer
related products in India. Switching Electronics hopes to make inroads into the
new market through direct sales, competitive pricing and easy accessibility.
Presently, it is selling around 1000 AVO UPS per month in the Eastern region.
Most of these cater to the needs of the small office home office segment.
"We have the required credibility for emerging as a potential leader in
UPS manufacture in the Indian market. The shift in focus to the north would put
us on the threshold of realizing our goals as a major UPS producer in
India," said its managing director Rabindra Agarwal. The AVO UPS ranges
from 0.5 KVA to 20 KVA with the line interactive lower capacities going to the
home segment. UPS Systems with higher ratings of around 20 KVA are online,
catering to multiple nodes.
"Our latest model is the single LED, a replacement over the usual triple
LED in addition to having a double conversion facility and a zero change-over
time. The distinctive features of the product differentiating us from the rest
are our pricing, prompt servicing and technologically improved components."
Switching Electronics hopes to sustain its quality service and add a lot of
flexibility to its existing features. The firm, with a turnover of Rs 3 crore,
is optimistic of being able to triple its sales within months of entering the
northern market. What remains to be seen now is how far could AVO establish
itself in the national market as a prominent UPS brand.
