The distribution agreement enables Avnet and its channel partners to accelerate the delivery of IBM software, including its Tivoli Service Management and Information Management portfolio that are currently fueling growth in India.

G Balakrishnan, MD—Partner Solutions Division, Avnet Technology Solutions India, said, “This further strengths our global relationship with IBM, in which Avnet and IBM are seen as key partners when it comes to solutions distribution. In India, we already have a distribution agreement for IBM hardware, so this new agreement will now give us a unique competitive advantage in the market place. We will now be able to offer our channel partners the complete IBM storage, server and software solution.”

This partnership is of great significance to our business partner network in India and South Asia,” said Anil Menon, VP—Channels and Ecosystems, Software Group, IBM India and South Asia. “We believe that the mid-market space will benefit immensely from Avnet’s solution-centric approach. Their value-added distribution model will bring the technology expertise and the skills and resources to the channel community allowing them to demonstrate the strengths of IBM’s software portfolio in the marketplace."
