Avaya ties up with Extreme Networks

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Avaya GlobalConnect Limited today announced its partnership with Extreme Networks to offer a converged communication package, marked at a price that meets requirements of small companies.

Extreme Networks would help Avaya to deliver to the small and medium business units, a new option for building end-to-end converged IP networks and to develop management and other technologies needed to improve market environment, Avaya said in a statement.

"Avaya and Extreme would work jointly to enhance the functionality, security and quality of converged networks and to simplify their deployment and management. Together, we would provide advanced converged networking solutions and services not available anywhere else in the market," said KL Naraynan, head – Convergence Business, Avaya GlobalConnect Ltd.

The small enterprises rely on their resellers for a complete networking solution of the highest quality. To meet this requirement, Avaya and Extreme Networks will use the networks of authorized distributors and certified resellers to enable these channels to offer even the smallest business, a complete, high-quality networking system.

Avaya being a distributor of Extreme Networks' products worldwide, would now resell and market a series of versatile network edge switches in the Indian market. In addition, Avaya also provides planning, installation and management through its services arm, Avaya statement added.

The special priced packaged product offering, would make it easy for organizations to apply the proper service levels to devices, whether they're laptops, IP phones, or IP cameras, so that the network can keep up with the demands of real-time communications.

The package consists of Extreme Networks Summit X250, ExtremeXOS version 12.0 with SummitStack stacking capabilities, the Summit WM200/2000 wireless LAN controller for secure, scalable support of mobile applications and continued integration of wired and wireless networks and finally, the Universal Port Man ager, a part of EPICenter, which supports the entire policy lifecycle with a powerful graphical management interface along with an Avaya IP Office.
