GURGOAN: Leading enterprise business communications company Avaya Inc. has started a technical support center in Gurgaon for the internal sales teams and business partners of the company across the world. The center, to be operated by a team of engineers, will be managed by the company's Indian JV, Avaya Global Connect. The center will be operational from April 2005.

The center will offer multi-channel support capabilities in all the areas that Avaya operates in, like IP telephony, contact center solutions, and other related technologies. It will serve APAC, America and Europe and will be Avaya's first global pre-sales support center outside the US, according to Wayne Clary, director of Avaya's solutions engineering and consulting division, of which the center is a part.

This center will not support the external customers of Avaya. "In future, we may look at that possibilities as well, though nothing is planned as yet," said COO of Avaya Global Connect Sunil Gambhir. Avaya already has a development lab in Pune.
