Avaya GlobalConnect Q1 net dips 31 p.c

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Avaya GlobalConnect Ltd suffered 31 per cent dip in its net profit to Rs 6.86 crore for first quarter ended December 31, 2007, compared to Rs 9.91 crore posted during the corresponding quarter previous year.

The company recorded gross sales/income of Rs 139.38 crore as compared to Rs 140.38 crore for the same quarter previous year.

Niru Mehta, vice chairman and managing director, Avaya GlobalConnect, said, "As per market trends available, the company sees immense demand for Unified Communications, contact center and IP telephony solutions and we hope to tap the market demand and see better results. Intelligent Communication solutions continue to remain our focus area."
