BANGALORE: Autodesk, Inc. has appointed Rajiv Nair as regional director of the Indian sub-continent.
Nair is the former president of Microsoft Corp's Indian Subcontinent operations and senior strategic advisor for Microsoft Asia.
He will be responsible for Autodesk's strategy and growth in India. In this position, he will spearhead all strategic initiatives for India to achieve the set business goals and to support Autodesk's expansion plans.
Nair is widely credited with building Microsoft's presence in the subcontinent region over a 13-year period. Nair held several positions with Microsoft including managing director, regional director, and president of the Indian operations.
"We are witnessing a period of very rapid growth in the region," said Dr. Jack Q Gao, vice president, APAC Emerging Geo. Rajiv's appointment is an extension of Autodesk's increased focus on the region, and the formation of the APAC Emerging Geo. He brings with him immense experience, which Autodesk can leverage in India to achieve our business goals," he added.
"My immediate focus is to consolidate our business in India while simultaneously leveraging the opportunity for new business," said Nair.
Nair was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering form Lafayette College, USA.
