NEW DELHI: Autodesk India Pvt. Ltd. announced the introduction of the AutoCAD
program, a new licensing option that allows customers to use AutoCAD 2002 for
limited a period of time. This option is particularly well suited to customers
who require the use of AutoCAD for short-term projects or a temporary increase
in workload, but who do not need to purchase a permanent license. The program is
also beneficial to customers who need to track and bill their design costs to a
specific project or client.

The AutoCAD Rental product is available through three options, for 30, 60, 90
days. The program also provides rental users with a quick and easy way to
convert their software to a permanent license, should the requirement arise. The
Autodesk Rental Program will initially support AutoCAD 2002. Plans are afoot to
widen the scope of this program by extending it to other products subsequently.

Each AutoCAD Rental Product is a full-functioning version of the standard,
commercial product. It has the same features, compatibility, and extensibility
and performance version of the software. Furthermore, AutoCAD Rental Products
can be purchased, delivered and installed following exactly the same process as
standard AutoCAD products.

The only differentiating factor is that the initial authorization code that
is provided with the rental product will automatically expire after the
conclusion of the rental period i.e. 30, 60 or 90 days from the date of
registration. On expiration, customers wanting to continue to use a license will
have to purchase a new rental (or permanent) license and will need to uninstall
the previous rental license prior to install the new license.
