Attachmate intros new solns to manage file transfer

BANGALORE, INDIA: Attachmate Corporation announced the availability of FileXpress Internet Server 7.2 and FileXpress Command Center 7.2, part of the Attachmate FileXpress family of products for the managed file transfer (MFT) software market.

The latest version of FileXpress expands automation, authentication and administration capabilities making FileXpress Internet Server and FileXpress Command Center helpful in managing internal and external file transfers of any size, enhance data security, make IT operations more efficient, and improve overall reliability and automation of data movement, says a release.

“One of the most frequent complaints we hear from IT managers is that provisioning and managing file transfers has a negative impact on their ability to meet milestones for ongoing projects,” said Sam Morris, product marketing manager for Attachmate’s FileXpress. “With FileXpress 7.2, we’ve made it easier for IT so they can spend less time provisioning file transfers and focus time on more strategic tasks.”

Automating file transfers — With FileXpress Internet Server 7.2 and Command Center 7.2, application developers can now leverage Java Message Service (JMS) integration, extending secure file transfer technologies and time-saving provisioning capabilities to modern message-oriented application development platforms.

Enhancing authentication — FileXpress Internet Server 7.2 and Command Center 7.2 expand FileXpress’ authentication capabilities with new options that include client certificate authentication for browser-based file transfers, a user-driven password reset process that streamlines the experience for end users without interrupting IT administrators, and lock-out settings for failed sign-on attempts that protect organizations from dictionary and DoS attacks.
