ATLANTA: Radiant Systems, Inc. announced a new agreement with Philips Arena, home of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers, to provide the Quest Venue Management hardware, back office and point-of-sale (POS) software solution for the arena’s food and beverage service operations.

Philips Arena will implement its new technology solution within its general, premium and portable concession locations, as well as in the venue’s restaurants, clubs and in-seat service prior to the 2010-2011 Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers seasons.

“When looking to upgrade our POS technology, Radiant Systems stood out because of the Quest solution’s ability to process credit cards faster and increase speed of service,” said Bob Williams, President, Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena, and Executive Vice President, Atlanta Spirit LLC. “We want guests at Philips Arena to be able to enjoy their favorite food and beverage offerings while also taking in as much of our games and events as possible.”

"Because the Quest terminal is an all-in-one and fully-integrated solution, it can deliver the fastest transaction speeds in high traffic areas in the industry. With Quest technology, Philips Arena can further enhance the guest experience through innovative payment methods such as Loaded Tickets, which provide fans with the opportunity to pre-assign, or load, dollar amounts on their admission tickets for purchasing food and beverage from any Quest point-of-sale in the arena. Quest hardware also consumes 80 per cent less energy than competitive products, aligning it ideally with the world’s first NBA or NHL LEED certified arena."

“The Quest solution proved to be the best fit for Philips Arena because of its versatility in the variety of point-of-sale technology outlets located within the venue,” said Scott Kingsfield, president of the retail, sports and entertainment division at Radiant Systems.

“Philips Arena is host to hundreds of sporting events, family shows and concerts each year, so it is important for them to have time-tested, innovative POS technology, and we are excited to provide them with a solution that fulfills these needs.”
