Aten unveils media distribution solution

TAIPEI, INDIA: Aten International has introduced a new media distribution solution—a digital signage/visual information management system to distribute audio and video content over Cat 5 cable to multiple displays from a single input source.

The solution consists of the 4 and 8-port Cat 5 audio/video splitters—VS1504 and VS1508, as well as VB552 VGA Over Cat 5 repeater. Through cascade connection, the VS1504/VS1508 can support thousands of displays when combined with Aten repeaters. With two RS-232 channels and support for high video resolutions, the solution is the perfect way to extend the range of A/V and serial transmissions.

Cascadable to three levels, the Aten media distribution solution can support thousands of displays located up to 450m from the source device while maintaining picture and sound quality. The solution also provides screen controls at the remote sites.

The Aten media distribution solution provides unique scalability and connectivity capabilities. The solution allows users to locate displays in the most favorable and eye-catching sites, while the control units can be discretely and securely deployed in a separate, dedicated room for easy servicing and maintenance.
