CN8000 KVM on the net is an advanced over-IP model that features dual interface support for server and console, virtual media support and remote power management.

The CN8000 virtual media USB support enables users to remotely transfer out-of-band data through the connected switch to any server and perform diagnostic tests, download files and install programs or operating system patches directly from a virtual media connection.

The CN8000 also offers both PS/2 and USB connections, and includes a modem port that provides out-of-band connectivity (OOBC) for emergency access when a network is down.

"For organizations with multiple locations, remote management is not a luxury but a necessity. With the new CN8000 KVM on the net, network administrators can connect the IP control unit to existing KVM switches to gain centralized control of remote servers and computers but also have the capability to manage their customers and do business remotely, even when the network goes down," said Kevin Chen, president, Aten International.

"In this day and age when security is paramount yet, remote access is business-critical, the CN8000 fits the bill for both these IT needs. The added value of virtual media support makes this product even more beneficial and productive for SMBs to enterprise organizations."

According to Chen, the new CN8000 supports remote power control. "When connected to our PN0108 power over the net switch, the new CN8000 allows network administrators to remotely power off, power on, and reboot attached devices," he said.
