Asustek sees strong notebook shipments in Asia

TAIPEI: Netbook PC pioneer Asustek Computer said on Thursday it sees its notebook PC shipments in the Asia Pacific doubling this year while shipments in China will rise more than 50 per cent.

"There will be explosive growth for desktop and notebook PCs this year," President Jerry Shen said at the company's annual shareholder meeting. "The demand from Eastern Europe is pretty good."
