“Multi-tasking capability for higher productivity is crucial for any businesses, especially for companies that are on the rise,” said Barry Huang, Director of ASUS Server Business. “The PVL-D Series was developed with corporate productivity in mind, providing system performance improvement with dual-CPU architecture, dual-core processing and Hyper-Threading Technology. For an affordable price, users can experience immediate performance scale up.”

The PVL-D Series support a dual-Xeon DP dual-core processor platform with Hyper-Threading Technology, independent 2M L2 cache for each CPU core and 800MHz system bus. For the cost of a dual-CPU serverboard, users can enjoy the benefits of eight CPU threads. The serverboards further leverage advanced 64-bit computing, which provides 16GB of memory address, to deliver another 46% system performance gain compared to conventional solutions.

With the streamline designs for the memory slots, Northbridge and power supply unit connectors (located on the side), the serverboards maximizes airflow and ventilation within the system for superior heat dissipation. The CPU and VRD are located at the center of the boards, allowing the fans to aim directly at the critical components for efficient cooling.

With one PCI Express x8 slot, two PCI-X 133/100 slots, two PCI 32/33 slot and one SODIMM ZCR RAID 5 socket, the serverboards offer rich expandability for future business growth. To ensure data safety, they incorporate SCSI HostRAID which provides affordable RAID 0, 1, 10 on Windows, Redhat and Netware for complete driver support, and additional OS/data integrity protection as well as cost-effective Hardware RAID 5 upgrade from SODIMM ZCR.

With dual-PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet, the PVL-D Series is capable of higher bandwidth aggregation and reliable networking based on fail over and load balance functions.
