Asus MeMO Pad to be launched in India at Rs 9,999

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The new Asus MeMO Pad ME172V is expected to hit the India market early next week, the company revealed today. Available at Rs 9,999, the tablet is powered with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, which is upgradable with one year global warranty.

MeMO Pad features 7-inch display and comes with Asus WebStorage with 5GB online lifetime storage. The company also claims the debut of Twisted Nematic (TN) panel, which it said, is quite responsive to customer needs.

Asus is eyeing 15 per cent market share in 2013, and said that they are optimistic about tablet market in India. The company also said that it will expand its MeMO Pad range with new tablet devices.

Asus India MD Peter Chang, citing industry research, said that in 2013, tablets will surpass the desktop market. "63.5 per cent of all tablets sales are under Rs 10,000 that led us to launch new device at such price price point," he informed.
