Asus intros new tablet for Rs 49,999

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Asus today unveiled Eee Pad Transformer prime tablet based which is first to use the NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad-Core CPU. The tablet runs on the Android Honeycomb 3.2 Operating System.

This tablet is 8.3 mm thick, which the company said, is slimmer than Samsung Galaxy tab or iPad2. Priced at Rs 49,999, the tablet promises 18-hours battery backup.

Alex Huang, MD, Systems Business Group at Asus Technology India said that Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet has Asus SonicMaster technology with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

“We aim to provide intuitive user experience. With Wi-Fi direct sharing, consumers can connect multiple devices,” Huang informed.

Eee Pad Transformer Prime comes with Android Honeycomb 3.2 Operating System, which however can be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The mobile dock offers a full QWERTY keyboard with touchpad and USB port. With Micro HDMI port and 8G life time Asus Web storage space, it  has 8MP rear auto-focus camera with LED flash.

NVIDIA South Asia MD Vishal Dhupar said that it’s for the first time in the world that a Quad-Core Tegra 3 CPU is being introduced. “With amazing battery life, it boasts to have faster GPU with stereo 3D,” Dhupar added.

The new tablet comes with ultra-slim mobile dock station.

Asus is also planning to bring more products in a price range between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. The company said that it indents to reduce plastics in all its products to facilitate Green concept.
