“Every year we bring one or two products to India. This time we have decided to bring desktops to Indian market. Though one can say it's a late entry but still there's enough space in the market for quality desktops in the mid and high-end segment where other vendors don't have their products,” said

Vinay Shetty, ASUS (India) country head — Component Business.

According to Shetty, the company will bring six variants of desktops in the mid and high-end segment, with the price range of Rs.35000 to Rs.94000. Each variant will have a price difference of around Rs5000-Rs10000.

This desktop range will feature CM and CG series, where the former is targeted at multimedia usage,  comes with Intel's H61chipset while the latter meant for gaming is based on Intel's H67 and Z68 chipsets.

Presently, the Indian desktop market is dominated by HP, Lenovo and Dell. And given ASUS' late entry into Indian desktop market, how will it penetrate into the market and beat its competitors remains to be seen. However, Shetty is confident. “Our brand is well known in the market for the best quality products such as motherboards, graphics cards and displays. And that's our USP.”

“We already have high quality components and now we are putting it together in our desktops for the market. While most vendors offer one year's warranty, we will offer two years warranty as we are very much confident of our quality,” he said.

In terms of desktop sale in India, Shetty didn't disclose any numbers but said, “We want to be among the top three companies in the next three years.”

ASUS desktop are already available in global markets of Europe, North America, China and APAC countries such as Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand.
