“With more companies concerned about the effects their business’ practices are having on the environment, Astaro is proud to be part of an organization working to progress green computing to the next level,” said Jan Hichert, Chief Executive Officer at Astaro. “Through collaborative developments and idea sharing enabled by The Green Grid, we hope to provide organizations with more energy efficient security solutions while ensuring they understand that this does not need to come at the expense of compromising their network security or increasing costs.”

The Astaro solution makes it easy for any organization to improve its energy efficiency.  Available as a software, hardware or virtual appliance, Astaro integrates disparate network security products onto a single solution, allowing customers to minimize energy consumption and reduce physical waste while tailoring to any network infrastructure.  Whether an organization plans to move to a virtualized environment, consolidate hardware through an integrated security solution, or augment its existing network security, Astaro offers flexible deployment options to meet their business and environmental goals.

The Green Grid seeks to provide industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies that will improve overall data center and business computing energy efficiencies. By joining The Green Grid, Astaro is helping influence both developers and end users. For more information on The Green Grid visit www.thegreengrid.org
