The course is being imparted by Asset in association with Microsoft. Asset

International vice president Kishansinh Gohil said, "This training program

is the first of its kind in the country and as India is a Microsoft country, we

are doing the course in association with Microsoft, which is providing the

end-to-end solutions of KM." The company is offering three types of courses

that address different segments in the market - managers, IT professionals and

students. With regard to the investment on this concept Mr Gohil said,

"Eleven faculty members and a few crores have gone into development of this

concept." He also added, "Every company will require KM professionals

to create, build and maintain KM systems. Two things were lacking all this while

- a structured formal way of training in KM and tools."

The company says that, KM@asset integrates four

core technologies that create a KM environment - customized user interface,

business intelligence, collaboration and content management. The course is also

said to offer KM as a management discipline and aims in fusing people, business

processes and technology. It helps individuals build a knowledge-focused

strategy through right technology and helps build knowledge systems. The

training center also believes that demand for KM professionals would be the

highest in software export companies, software services companies including

customer call companies and call center providers, Internet service providers,

application service providers and Dot.com & click and mortar companies

involved in B2B and B2C e-commerce.

The KM course is offered only by Asset International and does not include

Aptech Ltd. Asset claims that although there is no definite pre-requisite for

the course, but a work experience of about six to ten months and computer

knowledge is preferable. The course fee ranges from Rs 65,000 to Rs 80,000,

depending on the cities that offer the training. Asset International is also

planning to launch a course in software engineering on quality for the non-IT

people, sometime during June or July.
