Aspire to learn something new: Kiran Bedi

NEW DELHI, INDIA: India’s first woman IPS officer and Magsaysay Award winner Dr. Kiran Bedi today stressed upon the need for constant learning and emphasized that one should aspire to learn something new every day to achieve excellence.

She was inaugurating ‘Perspectives: A seminar on Animation’ at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi, organized by Arena Animation Academy, in which more than 2500 students, aspirants and animation enthusiasts attended.

In her speech Kiran Bedi  highlighted the need for students to focus on learning technical and creative skills, and also urged them to develop language skills to communicate effectively, Arena said in a press release.

Speaking on the subject ‘Creation of Original Content an Opportunities in New Media’, Atish Tripathi, director, Parijat Animation Films, gave an overview of the immense possibilities in this emerging segment.

While Dhimant Vyas, an independent animation designer, spoke on the making of the title animation sequence of the film ‘Taare Zameen Par, Mandeep Singh of Rhythm and Hues Studios spoke on the making of Hollywood biggies like ‘The Golden Compass’ and ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’.

In his address, Gurtaj Singh Mangat, zonal operations head, north and west, said, “Perspectives is an endeavor by Arena Animation to bring the industry professionals and the students together on a common platform, which would definitely leave the students with an experience to draw immense benefit from.”

The seminar has been held in all major metros and mini metros during the last two years.

It aims to bring together professionals from the animation community on a common platform to share their knowledge and experiences about the industry with students, helping them get an insight into the career options within animation, VFX and gaming, said the release.
