MUMBAI: Asianfrontiers Network Services (India) Private Ltd., a wholly owned
subsidiary of Webdivisions Pvt. Ltd. is planing to expand internationally by
deploying a network of strategically placed Internet data centers (IDCs) in the
Asia-Pacific region.
In this quest, Asianfrontiers will be launching its second data center in
Mumbai by the end of this year. More data centers will follow in Delhi and
Bangalore in the next twelve months. Commenting on the IDC in Mumbai, CEO,
Sumith Reddy Rebala said, "The infrastructure of the IDC in Mumbai will be
matching its counterpart in Singapore. The data center will see an investment of
US $6 million." The IDC will be set up in three phases.
The data center would have high-speed Ethernet connection and house around
4,000 servers. He revealed that the IDC would be powered by Cisco switches and
routers. Each of the customers’ servers would plug directly into the Cisco
catalyst 5500 series switches and Cisco7700 series routers.
Asianfrontiers also plans to deploy BGP4 (Border Gate Protocol). This enables
a multi-homed provider to set up a truly redundant network. The IDC also plans
to employ NOCOL (Network Operations Center Online) to provide 24/7 network
monitoring.
